The Council for
Black Business Enterprises

The Council for Black Business Enterprises (CBBE) was founded by Danielle Douglas, President of Inspire Enterprise Inc. in August of 2020. It is a community of stakeholders who have taken on the shared responsibility to address the disparities experienced by Black Business Enterprises (BBEs) in the public and private contracting systems.

CBBE is comprised of influencers who have made a significant difference individually and intend to make a bigger difference collectively as Champions for Black Business Enterprises. They’ve come together to create real, meaningful change while changing mindset, biases, processes to be inclusive. CBBE serves as a platform to hear and listen to the needs of Black Business Owners to identify and implement practical solutions as well as positively influence systems that exclude Black Business Enterprises.

OUR MISSION

CBBE's mission is to significantly increase the utilization of Black Business Enterprises (BBEs) as prime and subcontractors by addressing four key areas; access to capital, capacity building, resources, and opportunities on major projects throughout New York and New Jersey.

OUR WHY

Change must happen, actions must be taken, results must materialize. Now more than ever, we must be intentional about our WHY and connect it to the WHAT we are doing. We must eradicate the systemic "disparity within disparity" that has been a major barrier to black business enterprises getting access to contract opportunities in the public and private sectors. Our work can and will make a difference for their families, employees, customers, and communities.
